Event: French American Chamber of Commerce L'esprit de France Gala Dinner, Benefiting the French-American Chamber of Commerce

About the Event: Join the French American Chamber of Commerce as they celebrate the artistic and culinary treasures of France. Guest of Honor: David Appia, Minister Counselor of Economic Affairs and the Head of the Economic Department at the French Embassy in Washington D.C. and Special Guest: Claudine Pepin, Television Host and daughter of the acclaimed chef and food writer, Jacques Pepin. The evening will include a discussion of ways to encourage business and trade between France and Colorado, the presentation of two Awards for Contribution to French-American Business, remarks by Mr. Appia, a silent auction, art from the Denver Art Museum's upcoming "Landscapes from the Age of Impressionism" exhibit and selections from Central City Opera's upcoming production of Bernstein's American version of Romeo and Juliet - West Side Story.

Trade Opportunities with Mexico

About the Roundtable: In the last few years, Mexico has emerged as Colorado's second largest international trading partner taking $950 million in goods in 2007. Recent moves by the Mexican administration to open railroads, telecommunications, electricity generation, natural gas distribution and airports to international competition are creating a number of exciting new trade opportunities. This roundtable program will focus on an overview of the business climate and current and new opportunities in Mexico. Presentations from Mexican Consul General Eduardo Arnal and the Colorado International Trade Office's new Trade Representative in Mexico City will provide attendees with an understanding of the micro and macro economic climate and of the resources available to assist in developing trade between the two regions.
